Construction underway for Unit 2, Reedswood Park, Walsall

Brackley Property Developments are delighted to announce that construction has started on site for the next phase of development at Reedswood Park, Walsall.

Leasehold terms have been agreed with Love Shopping Direct Ltd, a large UK online retailer of LED lighting, HVAC, electrical and DIY products, for a 35,000sqft warehouse. They join lighting manufacturer, FW Thorpe who moved into a freehold unit of 15,000sqft on the site in September 2019.

Love Shopping Direct are currently based in Perry Barr and were looking for new premises which could be made bespoke to their requirements in which to expand their business. The company was founded in 2008 by Director, Nick Kandola, who used his redundancy pay to fund the set up and originally ran the company out of his bedroom, along with partners Ryan Kandola and Raj Dev who left their full time jobs and used their savings.

Since then, the company has grown quickly under their  leadership, with a dramatic 200% growth in sales over the last three years. The company has now agreed a 10 year lease for a 35,000sqft unit on Reedswood to accommodate the forecasted future growth. The intention is to create 22 new jobs within the first 12 months of moving to the new premises.

Nick Kandola commented “Reedswood is ideally located for our business, which is mainly online, with the major infrastructure routes being so easily accessible. As the unit will be designed and built to our requirements, and the intention is for our products to be used in the construction process.”

Stephen Pedrick-Moyle Managing Director of Brackley Property Developments, commented that “We are delighted that terms have been agreed with Love Shopping Direct for Unit 2. We have a planning consent already in place for the unit which enabled us to negotiate with X-Cel Construction and start on site quickly.

The investment has been pre-sold to MGTS St Johns High Income Property Fund who were represented by Cushman & Wakefield.

The joint marketing agents for the scheme are Lambert Smith Hampton and Fisher German.
