Friars Mill office park is situated on Bath Lane within the Waterside Regeneration Area Enterprise Zone. Friars Mill is the anchor project to the wider regeneration area which is undergoing a complete transformation. The scheme offers a pleasant riverside location with on site car parking.
Friars Mill Office Park is a vibrant commercial development brought forward by the Council, which undertook the first phase comprising the refurbishment of the Grade II-listed Friars Mill itself offering managed workspace overlooking the Grand Union Canal.
The second phase of the scheme, comprised the construction of two detached offices known as the Riverside and Fabric buildings. These were developed by Brackley Property Developments, and provided architect-designed, open-plan office accommodation over two storeys. The Riverside Building extended to 5,583 sq ft of space and the Fabric Building 4,940 sq ft.
The Riverside building, was successfully sold in 2019 to the Leicester branch of trade union Unite. The union acquired the building in shell and core condition, and carried out the fit out works. The two storey Fabric building, was constructed speculatively to a high specification, and was sold in 2020 to the Consultas Group.
The scheme is seen as an important catalyst for growth in the city, attracting major investment and revitalising a rundown area within a scenic riverside setting.
Being situated within the Waterside Enterprise Zone occupiers of the office park, benefit from rate relief for a period of 5 years (subject to a maximum cap).
